TOPAMAX is a prescription medicine used alone to treat seizures in patients 10 years and older; is used with other medicines to treat seizures in adults as well as children age two and older; and to prevent migraine headaches in adults. Who should not take TOPAMAX? Do not take TOPAMAX if you are allergic to the active ingredient topiramate. What should I tell my doctor before and while taking TOPAMAX? Avoid chewing the tablets as they may leave a bitter taste. TOPAMAX can be taken before, during, or after a meal. Drink plenty of water while taking TOPAMAX to avoid getting kidney stones.
